- Kennecott Utah Copper and Kennecott Land Co. have donated $210,000 to help The Nature Conservancy establish a research center as part of the group's climate change efforts, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

- Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, talk up "clean coal" while campaigning in West Virginia, according to Reuters.
- German technology group Schott plans to float its solar business unit Schott Solar, German business daily Financial Times Deutschland reported. Deutsche Bank , JPMorgan and Commerzbank will manage the initial public offering, the paper said in an article to be published on Wednesday, citing financial sources.
- Indy-based VC plans to invest $100 million in green tech. Scott Prince and Rick Kieser have formed a new Indianapolis-based venture capital fund. The former Silicon Valley sales executive and Cincinnati investment manager plan to raise $100 million through their Clean Wave Ventures firm for companies developing alternative energies and sustainable technologies, reports IBJ.com
